We handle the structural side properly: a calculation from a structural engineer, notification to building control, propping, the steel, padstones, and then all the making good and plastering afterwards.
The structural bit
A structural engineer sizes the beam for the loads above. Building control are notified and inspect at the right stages. The wall is propped before anything comes out, and the steel sits on padstones sized to spread the load into the remaining masonry.
Making it disappear
Boxing in with fire-rated board where required, forming a clean square opening, and skimming the ceiling and both rooms so there's no visible line where the old wall met the plaster.

You don't need to co-ordinate a builder, a plasterer and somebody to clear the rubble. We do the lot, we clean up daily, and we leave the room ready for flooring and decorating.
