Rising damp treatment to a 1900s terrace
Tide marks a metre up the front wall, treated with a new chemical damp course and salt-retardant render.

The problem
What we found
Bubbling paint and a white salt bloom running the full length of the front room wall, worse every winter. The pavement outside had been re-laid at some point and now sat above the original slate damp course, bridging it completely.
The solution
What we did
Ground level outside lowered and a drainage channel formed, a silicone cream damp proof course injected at mortar-bed level, contaminated plaster hacked off to 300mm above the tide line, then a salt-retardant render and skim. Covered by our 10 year written guarantee.
