The problem
What we found
A 1970s semi with deep swirled Artex on every ceiling, hairline cracked in two rooms. Given the age of the house the coating was treated as potentially asbestos-containing.
The solution
What we did
Nothing sanded or scraped. Four shallower ceilings bonded and skimmed over; the two cracked ceilings overboarded in 9.5mm board fixed into the joists, taped and skimmed. Downlight positions planned before boarding.
