Full house re-skim on a stone terrace
Three bedrooms, hallway and stairwell taken back and re-skimmed while the family stayed in the house.
What we found
A stone-built terrace off Stamford Road that had been papered and painted over for decades. Under the paper the plaster was patchy — old repairs in three different materials, blown areas behind the chimney breast and a stairwell wall that had never been straight.
What we did
Paper stripped throughout, blown sections cut out and made good, the stairwell wall dubbed out with bonding and ruled straight, then a full two-coat skim across every wall and ceiling. We worked room by room so the family kept a bedroom and the kitchen in use the whole time.

“They covered everything before they started and hoovered up every night. The walls are like glass — we were decorating the following weekend.”
